the space conquest

The human being is a fascinating creature, capable of an extreme intelligence if it is used in a great way. We achieved to be what we are today, passing by many periods, many doubts of reflections and evolving on our various ways of thinking depending on the historical periods.

Indeed, since decades, the human being has the necessity to show his power, so its displays by showing his riches like wear expensive clothes, jewelry, driving luxury cars etc… this mind corresponds a bit to consumer society, because we buy a product for his brand and not for his usefulness, we don’t need necessarily one but if the others have it, we must do the same to not be judged and shut away.

However, the human is drowned by the unknown, and he will be ready to do what’s necessary to reach it. For example, we spend unthinkable times on the spacial conquest. The beginning of its ascent happened during the Cold War, between the United States and the USSR. Both of the blocks would display to the other his economic power, consequently, the space field was the best way to impress each other, by investing in spatial programs like the well-known Apollo of twelve missions by the NASA, or the creation of the soviet space agency Roscosmos. It’s the beginning of the space race. The rise of those two powers was the booster of the economy and scientific discoveries. For example, although the segregation, three women who are famous today, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, contributed thanks to their impressive talent of calculating : thanks to them, we could maintain the Apollo program and lead experiences on the moon !

Even if through the time, there were tragic accidents like the space shuttle Challenger or Columbia, the spacial field evolved very quickly and permitted to astronauts figures like Buzz Aldrin, Youri Gagarine, Neil Amstrong or Chris Hadfield to explore this fascinating universe which surrounds us.

A simple blog article can’t obviously not talk about everything of the spacial field, but I’ll certainly come back with another article to talk you about various things which concern astronomy and space…
